Pituitary Dwarfism is a hormonal disorder that results in retarded growth and sometimes an abnormal coat. This particular variant of the disorder, found in the Karelian Bear Dog, is caused by a recessive mutation to the gene POU1F1.
Caractéristiques cliniques
Affected puppies present with reduced or retarded growth. They also display coat abnormalities; some affected dogs might never lose their puppy coat, while others may develop an adult coat before losing most of it.
